LBC Summer Appeal 2025

Help us celebrate 50 years of women in the rabbinate and raise much-needed funds by sharing your story

Since Rabbi Dr Jackie Tabick’s 1975 ordination, LBC has ordained more than 70 female rabbis, and we would like to invite you to share your experiences and memories with us.

We know it hasn’t been easy, particularly in the early years, and it’s important to record and remember both the challenges and achievements of women in the rabbinate. We also want to hear how changes in society have impacted on your work and the communities you have served, and what you feel LBC gave you.

We will also be contacting a smaller number of colleagues to do more in depth interviews, and these will be based on a representative sample of each decade over the past 50 years.

Read on for details on the type of content we’re looking for and to find out how to submit your information.

What are we looking for?

We need short pieces to focus on a few key areas relating to your life at the College, how your work has impacted communities and what you feel LBC gave you.

  • Tell us about your time at the College. Were there any LBC alumnae that inspired you to become a rabbi? Mention them.

  • Talk a bit about what LBC gave you. What was the support provided by the College?

  • Tell us about some of the challenges you faced in your career as a female rabbi. How has the landscape changed since you were ordained?

  • In a sentence or two, tell us why you think supporting the college is instrumental in shaping the future of Progressive Jewish life.

  • Please also attach a picture – if you prefer, feel free to record a video of yourself on your phone covering the above points

Please submit your details using the form below.

Please contact us if you have any questions.
