Leo Baeck College had a very successful 2018 Annual Dinner. The dinner raised £66,000, which will go towards helping Leo Baeck maintain its education of Rabbis of which it is the biggest contributor for Reform and Liberal communities in the UK and internationally.

Since Leo Baeck College opened in 1956 more than 180 Rabbis and 90 educators have graduated. Jill Todd, our new Chair, said she was sincerely impressed with “…our academic standards and with (principal) Rabbi Deborah Kahn-Harris and her team who have turned the College around and are putting forth great rabbis and great educators.”

The climax of the evening came with this year’s guest speaker Phillipe Sands, an international human rights lawyer and author of East West Street, an acclaimed memoir about his grandfather’s city Lviv in Ukraine. He entertained the audience with a dynamic and thought-provoking speech on his works which many felt a personal connection to.

We are very excited for next years annual dinner which will certainly be a night that should not be missed. We will be announcing details for the 2019 Annual Dinner next term.
