Help us raise £50,000 to celebrate 50 years of women rabbis in the UK
2025 marks 50 years since Rabbi Dr Jackie Tabick’s ordination. During these 5 decades Leo Baeck College has ordained more than 70 women rabbis.
This has only been possible through the generosity of our supporters. Help us celebrate this significant milestone and support the next generation of inspirational Progressive Jewish leaders.
This year, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous supporter, we’re pleased to offer donation boosts to reach our target of £50,000. Find out more below.

“Rabbi Dr Jackie Tabick, whose 50th anniversary of ordination is being celebrated, did not set out to be the first female rabbi in the UK. It just happened, and so many others have followed in her footsteps.
She is a remarkable person: combining scholarship and compassion with a healthy dose of modesty. Working as community rabbi in communities large and small, and latterly she served as Convenor of the Batei Din of both Reform Judaism and the European Union for Progressive Judaism. By doing so she helped so many people on their journey to joining Am Yisrael.
It is, therefore, fitting that her achievements are being marked in this appeal in support of Leo Baeck College, the institution which had the courage to make her vocation into reality. I urge you to give as generously as you can.”
