LBC Principal at the Voices of Faith Festival at Barbican Centre
LBC Principal, Rabbi Professor Deborah Kahn-Harris, joined Rabbi Dr Jonathan Romain MBE, an LBC Alum, at the Voices of Faith Festival to discuss what it means to be Jewish in the modern world.
On Sunday 15th March 2026, Rabbi Professor Kahn-Harris and Rabbi Dr Romain sat down to discuss Jewish beliefs, values and evolving practices in the modern world.
Rabbi Professor Kahn-Harris says: “I am delighted to be in conversation with Rabbi Dr Jonathan Romain, discussing aspects of contemporary Jewish identity and practice at the Voices of Faith festival. This year’s festival lineup includes speakers from a myriad of perspectives, ranging from an exploration of science and religion with Prof Marcus du Sautoy, the Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science at the University of Oxford, to reflections from leading Zoroastrians, Sikhs, and Hindus on their spiritual practices.
I am honoured that Rabbi Dr Romain and I will have the opportunity to examine what being Jewish in today’s world means to us and share that with the diverse audience of the Voices of Faith festival. In the current context, where we see war and division all around us, sharing our stories and learning how much connects us through of faith traditions seems all the more crucial.”
