Lehrhaus Spring 25

A fresh start in the New Year

As we are soon welcoming the Spring 2025 semester at Lehrhaus, our adult learning programme, we are yet again offering both a rich and diverse array of topics in our Jewish Studies and Jewish Education courses, as well as old and new language courses connected to Judaism.

Our extensive Jewish Studies courses range from “Bringing Midrash into the 21st Century”, and “Plunging in without getting wet – a deep dive into the Mikveh”, to Learning to Leyn in five sessions, and “Jewish Creations: from Gardens, Art and Fashion to the creation of the Jewish State” to name just a few.

As well as our Jewish Studies courses, we also offer many language courses, including Modern and Biblical Hebrew, Yiddish, and Classical Greek and its meeting with Judaism. These courses cater for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners.

This semester we will be offering two in-person courses: “Why Aramaic? Snapshots from Judean Archives and the Dead Sea Scrolls” with Dr Sandra Jacobs, and in the wake of 7 October 2023, “Zionism, the Messianic and Messianic Disappointment in the thought of Gershom Scholem” with Rabbi Daniel Lichman.

And for those working and teaching in chadarim, Lehrhaus is also offering a practical course in Jewish Education.
