Rabbi Josh Levy is Principal Rabbi at Alyth (North Western Reform Synagogue).

Following degrees at Oxford University (BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics) and London School of Economics (MSc in Social Policy and Planning), life took an unexpected turn when he became Director of Education at Finchley Reform Synagogue in 1999, entering the Leo Baeck Rabbinic programme three years later.

He has been at Alyth since 2008, having previously been Assistant Rabbi at West London Synagogue.

Since ordination, Rabbi Josh has taught several different vocational and academic subjects at Leo Baeck College.  Since 2015, he has concentrated on a fourth-year class, ‘Progressive Rabbinic Decision Making’, exploring how Progressive Jews make decisions about our practice, and our relationship with our legal tradition.
