The first International Conference ‘Les Filles de Rachi’ (‘Rashi’s Daughters’)
So happy to share with you the pictures from the first international conference ‘Les Filles de Rachi’ (‘Rashi’s Daughters’) that took place in the medieval heart of Troyes, France at the wonderful Maison du Rachi (House of Rashi) from 16th to 18th June.
This unique, pluralist and inspiring gathering on the theme of Women and Leadership in Judaism brought together woman student-rabbis, rabbis and scholars from a wide range of backgrounds, including Orthodox, Masorti and Progressive (including Reform and French Liberal). Hundreds of participants enjoyed the various workshops and keynote speakers.
Student-Rabbis and scholars from Leo Baeck presented dynamic sessions in collaboration with other scholars and rabbis on the themes of Women and Leadership in the Talmud, Midrash, and Halakhah, including the almost-ordained Daniela Touati, student rabbis Yaera Ratel, Iris Ferreira (a resident of Troyes!) and Ann-Gaelle Attias as well as lecturers Dr Laliv Clenman and Dr Tali Artman-Partock.
