The Pesach Haggadah: Where it comes from and why it is full of children – Professor Jeremy Schonfield
The Haggadah grew out of sacrificial rituals from Temple times, but in its final form it offers much more than an opportunity to worship and to be educated, even though these are generally assumed to be its main functions. We will look afresh at the Haggadah‘s structure and see how the whole adds up to much more than the sum of its parts, and how this may be one of the richest texts in our liturgy.
